Taylor at Absolute Speducation
I am here to help you feel more confident and capable in your understanding and support of your family member with a disability. Whether that be training, providing information, or connecting lessons to the home environment, I am on your side.
I spent the first ten years of my professional career working in schools in various ways, and while I loved being with the kids and staff, over the years, I felt like I wasn’t making enough of a difference. I wanted to support every family and child I came into contact with, walk them through the process of Special Education, and explain everything so thoroughly that they’d feel just as confident as the professionals. I quickly realized that the best way to share my knowledge and support more families would be to work privately rather than for organizations I did not fully align with.
Everything that I do, I do because I want to help. I want to ensure that every parent feels confident in an IEP meeting, that every family knows they’ve done a great job in supporting their family member with a disability, and that every staff member feels prepared to help that child or coworker who may learn or communicate differently.
We have a long way to go to ensure that families have the same knowledge and preparation as professionals regarding understanding and supporting disabilities and special education. Still, we are so happy to be taking those first steps.
